Be that as it may, the core question that arises in this proceeding is as to who should be in possession of the disputed land and the said question, in the absence of any decree coming from the civil court, can only be decided by following the due process law laid down in the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1886. Since this Court, by order dated 16-05-2018, had merely directed the Deputy Commissioner, Hojai at Sankardev Nagar to consider the representation, if any, filed by the petitioners and pass appropriate order therein, without deciding the question of right of the writ petitioners to occupy the land, I am of the considered opinion that no interference with the said order is called for in this review petition.
