Heard Mr. K. Boruah, learned counsel for the applicant-petitioner and Ms. S. Mushahary, learned counsel for the respondent Assam Gramin Vikash Bank.

The applicant as the writ petitioner, has preferred the connected writ petition, W.P.[C] no. 1746/2021 seeking inter alia a direction to the respondent

authorities in Langpi Dehangi Rural Bank to process the pension papers of the petitioner and pay his pension and other retirement benefits.

It is submitted by Mr. Boruah, learned counsel for the applicant-petitioner that Langpi Dehangi Rural Bank i.e. the petitioner’s erstwhile employer, has since been merged with Assam Gramin Vikash Bank and as such, for proper adjudication of the issues raised in the connected writ petition, W.P.[C] no. 1746/2021, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank will be a necessary party in the writ petition. Ms. Mushahary has also admitted about the fact of merging of Langpi Dehangi Rural Bank with Assam Gramin Vikash Bank.

I have gone through the averments made in the writ petition as well as in this interlocutory application. Having considered the fact that the applicantpetitioner’s erstwhile employer, Langpi Dehangi Rural Bank has since been merged with Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Assam Gramin Vikash Bank would be a necessary party in the connected writ petition.

In view of the above, this interlocutory application seeking impleadment of
