This writ petition was filed way back in the year 2012 apprehending that pursuant to the selection process initiated by advertisement by District Registrar, Cachar vide Memo No. A-39/Pt-IV/09-10/178-188/R dated 16.2.2010, the respondent No. 5 may be appointed as Muslim Marriage Registrar and Kazi, Kalain.
While issuing the notice, this court vide order dated 2.4.2012, made an observation that pendency of the writ petition shall not be a bar for the respondent to finalise the selection of Muslim Marriage Registrar and Kazi, Kalain.
Be that as it may, as none appeared on behalf of the petitioner today, the matter is dismissed for non prosecution.
