This is an application, filed under Section 439 of the Cr.PC. seeking bail of the accused-petitioner, namely, Soram Nilakanta Singh, in connection with

NDPS Case No. 08/2017 arising out of Departmental Case No. 01/CL/NDPS/CPF/SIL/2017-18.
Perused the application for bail and the scanned copy of the case diary. The case is admittedly at the stage of evidence and at the last stage of trial. That being so, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this last stage of trial of the case. That apart, this Court has taken into consideration the factum of recovery of 1510 kgs of contraband ganja, involved in this case. On the other hand, the interest of the petitioner was taken care of by this Court while there was a direction to prepond the hearing of the case. In view of the above observations, this petition is disposed of by way of rejection.
Whatever observation is made in this application is for the purpose of disposal of the instant bail application only.
