Heard Mr. H Talukdar, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. B Deuri, learned counsel for the respondent contemnors.
The direction of this Court in the order dated 06.03.2019 in WP(C)No.3567/2017 is to place the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment recommended by the DLC Nalbari on 24.04.2015 before the SLC within a period of 30 days from the date of receipt of a certified copy of the order.
The order is dated 06.03.2019 and it is stated that since 06.03.2019, the SLC had not been convened. In the circumstance, a communication dated 18.11.2020 from the Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam in the Elementary Education Department is placed on record, wherein it is provided that the recommendation of the petitioner by the DLC Nalbari dated 24.04.2015 would be placed before the next available SLC as and when the SLC would be convened.
In view of the above, we are satisfied with the reply of the respondent contemnors. It is reiterated and directed that the recommendation of the DLC Nalbari dated 24.04.2015 made in favour of the petitioner be placed before the next available SLC without fail.
The communication dated 18.11.2020 be kept as part of the record.
Contempt petition, accordingly, stands closed.
