The applicant is a Non-Governmental Organization functioning in the
name and style of “The Aranya Suraksha Undivided Sivsagar District Committee” and is engaged in the activities of protection and preservation of wildlife and for the preservation of rain forests and other activities relating to preservation and protection of historical sites.
Mr. M.P. Sharma, learned counsel appearing on behalf of Mr. U.K. Nair, learned Senior Counsel appearing for the Gauhati High Court as well as Mr. D. Mozumdar, learned Addl.
