Heard Ms. V. Suokhrie, learned State counsel appearing for the applicants and Ms. Asenla, learned counsel appearing for the opposite parties.
The opposite parties as petitioners had filed 3 (three) writ petitions, W.P. (C) No.131/2016, W.P.(C) No.139/2016 and W.P.(C) No.140/2016, praying for a
Page No.# 3/4 direction to the applicants to declare the results of the selection process held for selection to Grade-IV posts in the Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland, pursuant to an advertisement published by the applicants on 7/7/2003, wherein they appeared as candidates.
The writ petitions were disposed of by this Court by a common judgment and order dated 6/8/2019 with a direction to the applicants herein, to take steps forthwith to publish the results of selection held for Grade-IV posts pursuant to the advertisement dated 7/7/2003 within a period of 2 (two) months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of the said order.
The case of the applicants is that after receipt of the said copy of the common judgment and order dated 6/8/2019, they have been taking steps for the purpose of declaration of the results but despite their best efforts, they have not been able to complete the entire process. It is in such situation, this application has been preferred seeking extension of the time period by another 3 (three) months for implementation of the direction passed by this Court in its order dated 6/8/2019. In this connection, Ms. V. Suokhrie, learned counsel for the applicants has referred to the letter dated 29/10/2019 (Annexure-2) wherein it is mentioned that the applicants require time till 31/01/2020 to bring the selection process to its logical conclusion.
Ms. Asenla, learned counsel for the opposite parties has submitted that there should be earnestness on the part of the applicants to bring the entire process of selection to a logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible.
Upon consideration of the statements made by the applicants in the application and hearing the submissions advanced by the learned State counsel, this Court is of the considered opinion that even though the application for extension of time has been filed after expiry of the period stipulated by this Court, for the ends of justice, a further period of 3 (three) months is required to be granted to the applicants to comply with the direction given by this Court in its order dated 6/8/2019.
Accordingly, the applicants are granted time till 31/01/2020, as requested vide letter dated 29/10/2019 (Annexure-2), to comply with the

directions of this Court passed in the order dated 26/8/2019.
