Canara Bank (Bank) has filed this application under Section 19 of the Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993 (RDB Act) for the recovery of Rs.26,12,733.50p with interest against Sh. Surjeet Singh @ Surjit Singh (defendant).

Bank’s case is that on 05.12.2008, it had granted a loan of Rs.2.00Lacs to Defendant in the form of K.C.C Limit for agricultural purpose. The KCC Limit was renewed and enhanced from time to time and lastly enhanced to Rs.15.50Lacs on 01.08.2017. On 25.07.2018, Bank had granted a loan of Rs.3.40Lacs in the form of Kissan OD Limit to the Defendant. To secure the loans, Defendant had mortgaged his agricultural land (fully detailed in para no.3A of the application). The loans were

chargeable to different rates of interest with half-yearly rests. On 30.09.2025, a sum of Rs.26,12,733.50p was due from the defendant. Despite repeated requests, defendant did not make the repayment. Hence, this application.

3. On 06.01.2025, summons was sent to the defendant by registered
post, which were duly served. However, defendant did not put in
appearance. Vide order dated 07.07.2025, he was proceeded_ex parte_.
4. In order to prove its case, the Bank has placed on record the
affidavit of Mr. Anurag Singh Chauhan, Branch Manager along with the
loan and security documents and marked them as Exhibit A-1 to A-24.
5. I have perused the evidence on the record. I am of the considered
view that the Bank has proved its case that it had advanced the loans under different schemes and on 30.09.2024, a sum of Rs.26,12,733.50p was due.
6. Accordingly, the application of the bank for the recovery of
Rs.26,12,733.50p (Rupees Twenty Six Lacs Twelve Thousand Seven
Hundred and Thirty Three and Fifty Paise Only) with interest @11.25% per annum with half-yearly rests from 04.12.2024, till the date of payment
is hereby allowed with costs. Bank can recover its dues by the sale of mortgaged agricultural land fully detailed in para no.3A of the application as well as from the personal movable and immovable property(ies) of the defendant.

7.	Pending IAs, if any, stand disposed of.
8.	Recovery Certificate be issued accordingly.
9.	Party is directed to appear before Recovery Officer on14.08.2025,
who	is directed to distribute the sale proceeds of the mortgaged
prop	erty(ies) and standing crops as per the provisions of Section 19(20-
AB)	of the Act.
