This petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29(A)(4) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (1996 Act) seeking extension of the mandate of the Sole Arbitrator.

It is stated that the present arbitral proceedings have their genesis in a Lease Deed executed on 07.09.2018 in respect of property bearing No.145P, Sector-44, Gurugram. Petitioner sub-leased the leased premises to one 91 Springboard Business Hub Pvt. Ltd. on 05.12.2018 for fifteen years and on 11.04.2024, Respondent terminated the Lease Deed without any notice

period, as alleged by the Petitioner. On 13.06.2024, Petitioner invoked the Arbitration Clause in the Lease Deed and on failure of the Respondent to consent to the appointment of the Arbitrator, Petitioner filed ARB.P. 1070/2024 on 17.07.2024, wherein this Court appointed the Sole Arbitrator vide order dated 23.07.2024. The arbitral proceedings are stated to be at the stage of commencement of final arguments and the mandate of the learned Arbitrator is expiring on 06.10.2026. In this backdrop, extension of the mandate is sought for a period of six months.

Issue notice.

Mr. Bharat Sood, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent and on instructions, submits that Respondent has no objection to the mandate being extended.

For the reasons stated in the petition, the same is allowed extending the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator by a period of six months from 07.10.2026.

Petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
