By way of present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 111/2012, registered at Police Station Greater Kailash, Delihi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 420/467/468/471/120B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter „ IPC ‟).

have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Greater Kailash, Delhi.

Briefly stated, facts of the present case are that on 09.05.2012, on the basis of the complaint of respondent no. 2, the present FIR was registered on 25.10.2018 against the petitioners under the relevant sections.

It is stated that both the parties have amicably settled the present matter and in support of the said settlement, the parties have executed an indemnity bond dated 17.12.2025, whereby a sum of ₹1,00,000/- has been given by the petitioners to respondent no. 2. .

This Court notes that the FIR in this case was registered in the year 2012. Charge-sheet was also filed in the year 2012 itself. However, the learned counsel appearing for respondent no. 2 states that respondent no. 2 in this case was summoned for the first time in the year 2019 and thereafter the parties have settled their disputes.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no.2 who has been identified by the concerned IO, has categorically stated that he has entered into compromise out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated by respondent no. 2 that the entire dispute has been amicably settled between the parties. Respondent no. 2 further states that he has no objection if the present FIR is quashed. 9. In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 111/2012, registered at Police Station Greater Kailash, Delihi for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 420/467/468/471/120-B of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed, subject to costs of Rs.25,000/- by each of the petitioners, out of which ₹25,000/- to be deposited by them in the form of donating educational books to the library of a Government school situated in the vicinity of their residence, after ascertaining from the Principal/Head of the concerned school or institution the nature and requirement of books needed for the school library, so as to ensure that the books donated are relevant and beneficial to the students. The amount of ₹25,000/- will be deposited with District and Sessions Courts Employees Welfare Association Fund and ₹25,000/- will be deposited with Delhi High Court Employees‟ Welfare Fund. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of one month from date and the compliance of the same shall be filed with the Registrar General of this Court.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of.
