Ms. Ishita Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the petitioner has commenced construction but requires a further period of two weeks to complete the same. She submits that the petitioner undertakes to surrender on or before 02.04.2026.

Mr. Sanjeev Bhandari, learned Additional Standing Counsel for the State, submits that in the event the period of parole is extended, the petitioner’s subsequent application for parole may require appropriate curtailment. Ms. Singh disputes this submission; the said issue may be considered by the competent authority at the appropriate stage, if and when such application is made.

For the present, the period of parole granted to the petitioner is extended until 02.04.2026, subject to the petitioner filing an affidavit within two days, undertaking that he shall surrender on or before the said date.
