By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR bearing No. 0180/2026, registered at Police Station Aman Vihar, Delhi, for the commission of offences punishable under 281/125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter ‘BNS’ ) and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom on the basis of settlement arrived at between the parties.

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned, Police Station, Aman Vihar, Delhi.

Brief facts of the case are that on 15.04.2026 the petitioner and respondent no. 2 had met with a motor vehicular accident. Thereafter, upon the complaint by respondent no. 2, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioner. It is stated that with intervention of the respected members of the society, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute vide Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 22.04.2026.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that she has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. It is also stated that she has already received the entire amount of compensation as per the above-mentioned MoU. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between the parties. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9. Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 0180/2026, registered at Police Station Aman Vihar, Delhi, for the commission of offences punishable under 281/125(a) of BNS and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
