By way of this writ petition, the petitioners seek issuance of direction to respondent no. 1/State to provide adequate protection to the petitioners from respondent no. 4 in the interest of justice.

This Court has heard learned counsel for the petitioners as well as learned Additional Standing Counsel for State/respondent.

In the present case, the petitioners have known each other for more than six months and, with the passage of time, their relationship developed into a romantic relation. Since 10.02.2026, the petitioners have been residing together and have voluntarily entered into a Live-in Relationship Agreement dated 10.02.2026 at Delhi. That the petitioners have been peacefully cohabiting since the execution of the said agreement. However, due to

continued harassment by respondent no. 4 and the family members of petitioner no. 1, the petitioners had lodged a complaint to the SHO, Police Station Anand Parbat, Delhi, however, no action was taken.

This Court notes that both the petitioners have inter alia prayed for protection of themselves from the respondent no. 4. The right to life and liberty is a cherished Fundamental Right guaranteed by the Constitution of India and the instant case merits a careful indulgence of this Court in ensuring the same.

Keeping in view the sensitivity of the present matter and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the petitioners are directed to provide their contact number to the concerned SHO and Beat Constable, and the concerned officers are also directed to provide the contact numbers of Beat Constable and SHO concerned to the petitioners, and provide necessary assistance as per law in case the need so arises.

In view of the above, the learned counsel for the petitioners states that he is satisfied with the above arrangement.

It is clarified that this order will not be considered as any reflection on the merit of any dispute, pending between the parties.

Accordingly, the present petition stands disposed of.
