The present contempt petition has been filed alleging wilful noncompliance of the order dated 08^th January, 2025, passed in W.P.(C) 3868/2023 titled as Ravi Prakash Sharma Versus Union of India & Ors.

By way of the order dated 08^th January, 2025, the writ petition was disposed of, thereby, setting aside the order dated 21^st November, 2022, and directions were given to the respondents to re-assess the eligibility of the petitioner, for the post of Logistics Officer (Deputy Commandant), in accordance with the Recruitment Rules. The relevant portion of the order dated 08^th January, 2025, reads as under:

21.11.2022 and direct the respondents to re-assess the eligibility of the petitioner for the post of Logistics Officer (Deputy Commandant) in accordance with the Recruitment Rules. If any further clarification is required, the respondents shall seek the same from the petitioner as also from the Indian Navy. This exercise shall be completed within 12 weeks from today. In case, the petitioner is found eligible, further process for considering the petitioner for the post of Logistics Officer (Deputy Commandant), including commissioning a Department Promotion Committee for the said purpose, shall also be undertaken by the respondents.

Today, learned counsel for the respondents has handed to this Court an affidavit of compliance, which is taken on record.

As per the said affidavit, necessary steps for conducting Departmental Promotion Committee (“DPC”), in accordance with the applicable rules and procedure, has been commenced and the DPC is now being conducted on 28^th July, 2026.

Accordingly, the respondents are held bound by the aforesaid affidavit and shall take necessary steps in accordance with the order dated 08^th January, 2025.

Noting the aforesaid, the present petition is accordingly, disposed of.
