The grievance of the petitioners in the present writ petition is with regard to holding of marriage functions at Mini Stadium Park, Naraina Vihar, New Delhi, a public park located at Naraina Village Road.

Counsel for the petitioners states that the petitioners do not have any grievance insofar as the religious functions are organized in the said park. The grievance is only in terms of marriage functions which are held at the said park, which causes inconvenience to the residents.

In the status report filed on behalf of the respondent/ MCD on 10^th December, 2024, it has clearly been stated that marriage and other social functions were discontinued with effect from March 2021. The relevant

Counsel for the petitioner submits that despite the aforesaid stand, marriage functions continue to be held at the said park. It is submitted that as recently as 8^th -10^th February, marriage functions were organized at the said park.

Taking note of the aforesaid submission, a direction is issued to the respondent/ MCD as well as SHO, Naraina Vihar to strictly ensure that the aforesaid park is not used for purposes of marriage and other social functions.

The petition stands disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
