On 07.08.2025, the following order was passed:

“1. The learned Counsel for Respondent No. 1 submits that the directions passed vide order dated 28.04.2025 is in process of being complied with. He further submits that approximately two lakh documents have been digitized and uploaded and the remaining nine lakh documents are yet to be digitized and uploaded. He submits that it will take approximately six months to complete the said task.

2. In view of the above, it is directed that Respondent No. 1 will take all efforts to expedite the process of digitization and complete the same as soon as possible, as a period of six months is a considerable long time, given the directions were already passed on 28.04.2025. 3. Let a Status Report be filed within a period of six weeks providing the status as on the date of the Status Report with regard to the digitization and uploading of the records.

Pursuant to above order dated 07.08.2025, Respondent No. 1 has filed a Status Report dated 20.11.2025 (“ Status Report ”), which is taken on record.

As per the Status Report, 710 numbers of orders have been digitized and uploaded and the copy of the excel sheet is annexed with the Status Report. It is further stated that Respondent No. 1 has prepared a Standard Operating Procedure (“ SOP ”) to get the certified copies of the digitized orders. A copy of the SOP is annexed with the Status Report.

The Status Report states that the certified copies can be obtained by applying as per TM-M, a copy of which is also annexed along with the Status Report.

Mr. Anirudh Bakhru, the learned Amicus Curiae submitted that the Status Report indicates that the process of digitization of the records is almost complete and the present Petition can be disposed of with the direction that digitization and uploading of the remaining records be completed in a timely manner in terms of the SOP.

In view of the above, the present Petition is disposed of with the direction that the process of digitization and uploading of the remaining records shall be completed by Respondent No. 1 at the earliest and the certified copies of the digitized orders shall be provided by Respondent No. 1 in accordance with Trade Marks Act, 1999 and Trade Marks Rules, 2017 (“ Rules ”) by applying through Form TM-M under Rule 122 of the Rules in terms of the SOP.
