1. The instant petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (hereinafter “BNSS”) has been filed by the petitioner praying for quashing of FIR 332/2020 registered at Police Station Malviya Nagar on 04.08.2020, for offences punishable under Sections 323/354/354(B)/506/509/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereinafter “IPC”).

2. The petitioners are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer, Police Station Malviya Nagar. Respondent no. 2 is also present in the Court and has been identified by her counsel and the Investigating Officer.

3. The brief facts of the case are that on 03.08.2020, an altercation occurred between the respondents and petitioners herein. Opposite parties had filed cross-FIRs, both arising out of the same altercation, and are presently before this Court for quashing. The other FIR, appearing for consideration in WP Crl 2330/2025 has been quashed by this Court.

4. It is submitted that the petitioners and respondent no. 2 have settled their disputes amicably and are now moving forward towards a peaceful and harmonious future, and that respondent no.2 has entered the settlement in question without any coercion or pressure.

5. Settlement Agreement dated 08.07.2025 is on record and has been annexed as Annexure G. Qua this deed, Respondent 2 has agreed to withdraw the case arising out of FIR 332/2020 registered at Police Station Malviya Nagar against the petitioners.

6. It is prayed by the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the parties that the instant FIR may be quashed on the basis of the compromise. 7. Learned APP for the State submits that there is no opposition to the prayer made by the petitioners seeking quashing of the FIR in question in view of the settlement arrived at between the parties.

8. Heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record.

9. Keeping in view the fact that the matter stands amicably been settled between the petitioners and Respondent 2 amicably without any pressure, no fruitful purpose would be served by keeping the matter pending.

10. Hence, in light of the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court passed in Gian Singh vs. State of Punjab (2012) 10 SCC 303 , FIR 332/2020 registered at Police Station Malviya Nagar, for offences punishable under

Sections 323/354/354(B)/506/509/34 of the IPC, and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom, are quashed. 11. The petition, along with pending applications, if any, stands disposed of.
