This is a petition seeking quashing of chargesheet under Sections 498A/406 of IPC arising out of F.I.R No. 492/2017 dated 15.12.2017 under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC registered at Police Station Mianwali Nagar, Outer District, Delhi.

It is stated that the parties have arrived at a settlement/Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) dated 13.12.2024 before the Joint Registrar, Delhi High Court of Delhi at New Delhi pursuant to which the entire amount has been paid to respondent No. 2 by the petitioner.

Both parties state that they have entered into the aforesaid settlement out of their own free will, volition and without any threat, force, undue influence or coercion. It is stated by respondent No.2 that she has no objection if the FIR is quashed.

Since the parties have arrived at a settlement and no disputes are pending, I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing. In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings.

In this view of the matter, F.I.R No. 492/2017 dated 15.12.2017 under Sections 498A/406/34 of IPC registered at Police Station Mianwali Nagar, Outer District, Delhi and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
