The present petition is filed challenging the order dated 29.01.2025, passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Saket Courts, New Delhi in SC No. 2202/2016, whereby the petitioner’s right to address final arguments was closed noting that the matter has been listed for final arguments since 22.11.2024, and repeated adjournments were taken on behalf of the petitioner stating the absence of the arguing counsel.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the learned counsel, who has been representing the petitioner before the learned Trial Court, has been keeping unwell.

He submits that one opportunity may be granted to the petitioner to address arguments. 5. He submits that no prejudice would be caused since the prosecution has still not advanced arguments. 6. Considering that the arguments have still not concluded and the prosecution is yet to argue, this Court considers it apposite in the interest of justice to grant one final opportunity to the petitioner to address final arguments.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the learned counsel who has been handling the case of the petitioner since the beginning is unwell and will be available after 10-15 days. He submits that the learned counsel will appear on 23.05.2025 or any suitable date thereafter to address final arguments.
