By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR bearing no. 262/2018, registered at Police Station Dwarka Sector-23, Delhi, for the commission of offence punishable under Sections 498A/406/506/34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter „ IPC ‟) and the proceedings emanating therefrom.

The petitioners and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and concerned Investigating Officer (IO) from Police Station Dwarka Sector-23, Delhi.

Brief facts of the present case are that the marriage between the petitioner no.1 and respondent no. 2 was solemnized on 23.11,2017 according to Hindu rites and ceremonies at New Delhi. It is stated that no child was born out of the said wedlock. Due to temperamental differences, both the parties started residing separately since 16.12.2017. On the complaint of respondent no. 2, the present FIR was registered against the petitioners.

During pendency of the case, both the parties had amicably settled their disputes by way of Memorandum of Understanding dated 27.09.2021. It is stated that both the parties have dissolved their marriage by way of mutual consent from the concerned Court.

This Court notes that on the last date of hearing, the complainant was exempted from personal appearance before this Court. Today, the father of complainant is present in person alongwith counsel, who states that he has received an amount of Rs.1,90,000/- by way of Demand Drafts bearing nos. 317951 dated 03.11.2025 for a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- and 317942 dated 13.10.2025 for a sum of Rs.90,000/-, both drawn on State Bank of India, Pushpa Bhawan Branch, Delhi.

On a query made by this Court, the father of the complainant/ respondent no.2, who has been identified by the IO, on instructions, has categorically stated that the complainant has entered into compromise out of her own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. He further states that he has no objection, if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above fact that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would
