This is a petition seeking quashing of FIR No. 387/2024 under Section 290 BNS, 2023 registered at PS Naraina, Delhi.

As per the FIR, it is stated that the daughter of respondent Nos. 3 and 4 fell from the 4^th floor of the construction site and subsequently succumbed to her injuries. Hence the FIR.

It is stated that Rs. 55,000/- has already been paid to respondent Nos. 3 and 4.

During the submissions, it is stated that respondent Nos. 3 and 4 were not employees of the petitioner and had gone to meet respondent No. 2 who was working at the site. At this site the minor child fell from the 4^th floor.

From the facts it is clear that it was an unfortunate and inadvertent incident.

The parties have subsequently entered into a settlement, where respondent Nos. 3 and 4 have agreed to settle their disputes and have given no objection to the quashing of the FIR. The same has duly been recorded by the learned Joint Registrar in the order dated 16.01.2025.

Respondent Nos. 3 and 4 are present in Court and states that they have settled the matter and have no objection to the quashing of the FIR.

I am convinced that quashing of such proceedings on account of compromise would bring about peace and would secure ends of justice. It is to be noted that no amount of money can substitute the loss of life. However, money can serve as a bridge to overcome the difficulties of life due to the loss of a family member. It can lessen the burden of the family members left behind. The Court does not see any fruitful purpose if criminal proceedings are permitted to be prosecuted any further. It is a fit case for quashing.

In this view of the matter, there is no reason to continue the proceedings. For the said reasons, FIR No. 387/2024 under Section 290 BNS, 2023 registered at PS Naraina, Delhi and consequential proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed.

The petition is disposed of.
