By way of the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of the FIR bearing No. 521/2016, registered at Police Station Alipur, for the offences punishable under Sections 354(A)/323/342/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter ‘IPC' ).

Brief facts of the case are that on 10.09.2016, due to some misunderstanding there were some disputes and issues had arisen between the petitioners and the respondents. Thereafter upon the complaint by respondent no. 3, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioners. It is stated that with intervention of the family, friends and respected members of the society, the parties have now amicably settled their dispute vide Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU ) dated 21.11.2024. 7. The Death Verification Report had been filed before the learned Joint Registrar (Judicial), Delhi High Court and the same has also been placed on record before this Court. Vide order dated 07.05.2025, passed by the learned Joint Registrar (Judicial), Delhi High Court, it has been mentioned that the factum of death of Indrawati was verified by the prosecution. 8. On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 3 who has been identified by the IO, has categorically stated that he has entered into compromise out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, he has no objection if the FIR is quashed. 9. In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 10. Accordingly, FIR bearing No. 521/2016, registered at Police Station Alipur, for the offences punishable under Sections 354(A)/323/342/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
