The present application has been filed on behalf of the petitioner for early hearing of the matter on the ground that pursuant to the directions of this Court issued vide order dated 09^th July, 2025, the petitioner had approached the respondent-BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. However, despite all the formalities having been fulfilled by the petitioner, fresh electricity connection has not been provided to the petitioner.

Per Contra, learned counsel appearing for the respondent-BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd., has handed over to this Court the document pertaining to the Deficiency Letter dated 31^st July, 2025, which was issued to the

petitioner, pursuant to the application of the petitioner for grant of electricity connection.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent submits that the said deficiencies have still not been removed by the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent has further handed over to this Court a document to show that a case for theft of electricity is pending against the petitioner.

The documents submitted on behalf of the respondent are taken on record.

He further submits that the petitioner is liable to pay an amount of Rs. 1,70,047/-, towards the electricity dues under one bill and Rs. 6,267/- under another bill. The aforesaid amounts include penalty charges, since the petitioner was found to be stealing the electricity.

However, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had taken the electricity connection from his neighbor and that no theft of electricity has been committed by the petitioner.

Without going into the issue, as regards the theft of electricity by the petitioner, as the same is already pending before another appropriate forum, considering the approaching festive season, it is directed that subject to payment of Rs. 30,000/- by the petitioner, within a period of ten days from today, electricity connection shall be duly provided in the premises of the petitioner.

The aforesaid connection shall be given by the respondent, without prejudice to its rights and contentions, with respect to the proceedings, which are pending for theft of electricity.

Considering the aforesaid directions, since the prayer in the main petition itself is regarding installation of temporary electricity connection in the property in question, in view of the directions passed today, the prayer made in the present writ petition stands satisfied.
