The present petition is filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 875/2022 dated 06.11.2022, registered at Police Station Prem Nagar, for offences under Sections 323/341/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (‘ IPC ’), including all consequential proceedings arising therefrom. The said FIR was registered on a complaint filed by Respondent No. 2.

It is averred that due to a prior dispute, the accused persosn allegedly entered into the house of Respondent No.2 and started beating him and his family members. The incident led to the registration of the present FIR.

parties are neighbours and they have decided to bury all their disputes and live peacefully in the future.

The present petition is filed on the ground that the matter is amicably settled between the parties by way of Settlement Deed dated 15.10.2024, on their own free will, without any pressure and coercion. 7. Petitioner Nos. 1 to 3 and Respondent No. 2 are present before this Court in person. Petitioner No. 4 has joined the proceedings through video conferencing. The parties have been duly identified by the Investigating Officer. 8. Respondent No.2, on being asked, states that he does not wish to pursue the proceedings arising out of the present FIR, and has no objection if the proceedings are quashed. 9. Offences under Sections 323/341 of the IPC are compoundable in nature. 10. This Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose would be served by relegating the parties to the learned Trial Court for filing an application to compound the offence. 11. Keeping in view the aforesaid principle, the nature of the dispute and the fact that the parties have amicably entered into a settlement, this Court feels that no purpose would be served by relegating the parties to the learned Trial Court for filing an application to compound the offences. 12. In view of the above, FIR No. 875/2022 and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are quashed. 13. The present petition is allowed in the aforesaid terms.
