The petitioner is seeking parole for a period of two weeks. He is aggrieved by the rejection order dated 05.01.2018 passed by the Competent Authority wherein his prayer had been rejected for the reason that he had availed of furlough w.e.f. 18.10.2017 to 01.11.2017.

A status report has been filed by the State. Learned counsel for the State informs this Court that in addition to the furlough availed of in the month of October, 2017 by the petitioner, the petitioner had thereafter taken the benefit of another furlough for a period of two weeks w.e.f. 11.01.2018 to 26.01.2018. The present petition had been filed on 22.02.2018 i.e. just one month of the benefit of furlough already having been availed of by the petitioner.
