The petitioner is seeking furlough for the reasons as mentioned in the petition. The petitioner is a life convict. He has undergone incarceration of almost about 14 years. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a good case is made out for grant of prayer made by the petitioner.
On advance notice, learned ASC for the State has put in appearance. His submission is that the nominal roll of the petitioner reflects the conduct of the petitioner and for the grant of furlough, good conduct is a pre-requisite. The nominal roll of the petitioner further reflects that on the last four dates when furlough had been granted to the petitioner, on all occasions, he had surrendered late. The nominal roll further reflects that even on the last date when furlough had been granted between 27.11.2015 up to 27.02.2016, the petitioner had jumped furlough for a period of two months and 28
days and coercive steps had to be taken against the petitioner before he could be re-lodged in jail.
No ground is made out for grant of furlough. Dismissed.
A copy of this order be sent to the Jail Superintendent for intimation to the petitioner.
