It was pointed-out by the learned counsel for the Respondent No.1 that having regard to the fact that the appellant was permitted to register for the UGC-NET and that he would be permitted to appear in the examination later, if found eligible, the writ petition has been rendered infructuous. It is also submitted that since the legality of the bar or restriction with respect to possessing an Aadhaar Card as a pre-condition to appear in entrance examination such as UGC-NET or other similar tests is pending consideration before the Supreme Court, the writ petition may be disposed of.
Learned counsel or the appellant, having regard to these circumstances sought a direction that the costs imposed upon the petitioner by the impugned order be waived/set aside.

In view of the above developments, the Court is of the opinion that the direction to pay costs is required to be interfered with. It is accordingly set aside. The appeal is accordingly disposed of as infructuous along with the pending applications.
