The petitioners have filed this petition seeking the following reliefs:

“10.1 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent No.1 and 2 to merge the service of the petitioners in the respondent No.3 Bank within a stipulated time frame.

10.2 That, this Hon'ble Court may kindly be pleased to direct the respondent No.1 and 2 to immediately release all the increments and other allowance which has not been paid to the petitioners after 07/10/2014 along with the interest, which this Hon'ble Court may deems fit from the 07/10/2014.

10.3 Any other relief(s)/ order(s)/ direction(s) in favour petitioner, which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case, in the interest of justice.

Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the issue regarding the merger of the services of the petitioners is pending consideration before the respondent authorities since 2014. He would invite attention of this Court to paragraph 7 of the reply filed by the State, wherein it is categorically stated that the process of merger is

under consideration. He would submit that a direction may be issued to the respondent authorities to conclude the proceedings of merger expeditiously.

On the other hand, learned counsel appearing for the respondents would oppose. Ms. Soumya Sharma, learned State counsel would submit that the procedure for merger is under process.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the documents present on record.

Taking into consideration the submissions advanced by learned counsel for the parties and the statements made in paragraph 7 of the return filed by respondents No.1 & 2, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to conclude the merger proceedings expeditiously, preferably, within a period of 180 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of.
