At the very outset, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submitted before the Court that he had not received any instructions from the petitioners in respect of either of the two cases. Consequently, he stated that he was not in a position to make any effective submission on behalf of the petitioners or to assist the Court in the matter at this stage.

Learned counsel appearing for the State/respondents submits that, owing to the subsequent developments in the matters, the grievance raised by the petitioners no longer survives. It is, therefore, contended that the cause of action, if any, does not subsist as on date and the present petitions have accordingly become infructuous.

Having considered the submissions made by learned counsel for the parties and in view of the facts and circumstances noticed

hereinabove, this Court finds that no effective adjudication of the issues raised in the present writ petitions is called for at this stage. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners has expressed his inability to make any submission for want of instructions, while the learned counsel appearing for the State/respondents has submitted that, owing to the subsequent developments, the grievance of the petitioners no longer survives.

In such circumstances, the present writ petitions have become infructuous and, accordingly, stand dismissed as such, as also for want of instructions.
