The petitioner has filed this petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India against the memo dated 07.11.2025 passed by respondent No. 3 by which the electricity connection of the petitioner has been disconnected on account of non-payment of dues to the tune of Rs. 48,97,123/- for the period from April, 2022 to September, 2025.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that there is a dispute about the quantum of the electricity charges assessed by the

respondents. He would further submit that since electricity has been dis-connected by the respondents and since the petitioner is imparting education and examination session is also very shortly therefore, it is causing difficulty for them to impart education to the students which may adversely affect the future of the students and has necessitated the petitioner to file present petition.

He would further submit this Court on the last date of hearing has directed the petitioner to deposit Rs. 10,00,000/- and has also directed the respondents to re-connect the electricity on payment of Rs. 10,00,000/- and in pursuance of direction given by this Court, the amount of Rs. 10,00,000/- has been deposited by the petitioner, thus he would pray for grant of interim relief.

In view of submission made by learned counsel for the respondents that electricity connection has been restored by them, the instant writ petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to raise his grievance, if any, by taking recourse/remedies as provided under the Electricity Act, 2003 and rules made therein.

In the eventuality of raising grievance before the forum for redressal of grievance constituted by the respondents and representation before the Ombudsman constituted under Section 42(6) of the Electricity Act, 2003, the same shall be decided within an outer limit of 06 months from the the date of receipt of copy of this order in accordance with rules governing the field.
