more than 8 years without setting out plausible explanation for this delay. Therefore, it is liable to be dismissed on the sole ground of delay and latches in limine . This apart, it is contended that the petitioner’s claim for compassionate appointment was turned down vide letter dated 16.10.2008 (Annexure P/6) with plausible and detailed reasons which was duly communicated to him, however, the same was not challenged before any authority of law and as such, the rejection of his claim has attained finality and without challenging the letter dated 16.10.2008, the present petition is liable to be dismissed on the ground of maintainability. In fact, by way of this petition the petitioner is seeking backdoor employment by taking undue advantage of the policy for grant of compassionate appointment. As per the said policy, compassionate appointment is to be granted to the family members of the employees who are in immediate need of financial aid and are suffering from financial crisis or having no source of income whereas the petitioner has filed this petition in the year 2015 which shows that he is well off and is in no need of compassionate appointment.
