2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that mother of the petitioner namely Smt. Basant

Baghel was working as Assistant Grade – III at Sub
Division Sahaspur Lohara, Water Resources
Department. She died in harness due to COVID-19
infection on 29/04/2021, thereafter, petitioner,
being the only dependent/daughter, has filed the
application for compassionate appointment on the
ground that her mother got separated from her
father during her lifetime and petitioner was
solely dependent on her mother, therefore, as per
the policy of compassionate appointment she should
be appointed. She would further submit that
petitioner's application filed as Annexure P/1 has
already been forwarded to the competent authority
and prays that the said application may be decided
in either way.

3.Since the death of petitioner's mother is not in
dispute that she died in harness on 29/04/2021 due
to COVID-19 infection while working as Assistant
Grade – III at Sub Division Sahaspur Lohara, Water
Resources Department, petitioner's application for
compassionate appointment may be decided in
accordance with the Rules which are existing as on
date touching the subject matter within a period of
four months from the date of receipt of a copy of
this order.
