A. BACKGROUND
- On 1st June, 2020, the Competition Commission of India ( Commission ) received a notice ( Notice ) under Section 6(2) of the Competition Act, 2002 ( Act ), filed by Jaadhu Holdings LLC ( Jaadhu ), an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Facebook, Inc. ( Facebook ). The Notice was given by Jaadhu in relation to its proposed acquisition of approximately 9.99% of the equity share capital in Jio Platforms Limited ( Jio Platforms ), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited ( RIL ).
