It is submitted on behalf of petitioner that petitioner is being subjected to threats by respondent nos.4 & 5. Prayer is made for directing the concerned police authorities to provide protection to petitioner thereby restraining respondent nos.4 & 5.

State respondents and private respondents are represented by learned advocates.

On behalf of State respondents a communication dated 28^th August, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge, Howrah Police Station is filed and same is taken on record. Copies of the said communication dated 28^th August, 2026 are made over to the learned advocates representing petitioner and private respondents.

According to State respondents, steps are being taken in connection with Howrah Police Station Case No.226/2026 dated 21^st May, 2026. Effort is being

continued to trace out husband of petitioner being respondent no.3. It is also disclosed in the communication that respondent nos.4 & 5 were granted pre-arrest bail.

Learned advocate representing respondent nos. 3 to 5 submits that pre-arrest bail was granted in favour of respondent nos.4 & 5 vide order dated 19^th August, 2026.

Since respondent nos.4 & 5 have obtained pre-arrest bail from the co-ordinate Bench vide order dated 19^th August, 2026, prayer made in this writ petition for providing protection to petitioner is not allowed.

However, concerned police authorities are directed to expedite investigation in connection with aforesaid criminal prosecution and submit report before the jurisdictional Magistrate at an early date. It is expected that necessary steps shall be taken for ensuring presence of respondent no.3 before the investigating officer in order to facilitate investigation.

With the aforesaid observation writ petition is disposed of.
