Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 10^th August, 2024 and the subject matter of the case was for recovery of 198 Kg. of Ganja.

Learned Advocate submits that the petitioner is innocent. On the vague allegations of the contraband articles purported to be loaded in the vehicle which was driven by the petitioner, the petitioner has been arrested.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State has produced the seizure list along with the statement of the owner of the vehicle. I find that the petitioner has signed on the seizure list and the factual circumstances at this stage

till date favour the investigating agency, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail at this stage.

It has been informed that nine witnesses out of proposed 21 have already been examined. There are other witnesses to be examined. Considering the stage of the case and the period of detention, the learned trial court is directed to fix at least one schedule in a month and expedite the trial.
