High Court at Calcutta, Criminal Revisional Jurisdiction — CRR 801 of 2025, decided on 25-11-2025 by Chaitali Chatterjee (Das), J. Upon joint submission by learned counsel for the petitioners and opposite party no.2 that the matter stood amicably settled before the Hon'ble Supreme Court, and on perusal of the Supreme Court judgment recording the settlement agreement and issuing directions (paragraph 8) that both parties shall continue to abide by the terms of the settlement without exception and that the Registry forward a copy of the order to the foras/Courts concerned for passing formal orders closing the cases, the Court found nothing remaining for adjudication. Consequently, the proceeding being A.C.G.R. Case No.5137 of 2024 pending before the learned Court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alipore, South 24 Parganas was quashed and the revisional application was disposed of. Both the learned advocates representing the petitioners and the opposite party no.2 submits before this Court that the matter has been amicably settled before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and, accordingly, they hand over a copy of the judgment passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in this connection. Let that be taken on record.

Both the Learned advocate further submits that in view of the above settlement, the entire proceeding may be directed to be quashed as the matter has been amicably settled.

On a perusal of the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, it transpires that a settlement agreement had entered into between the parties and in paragraph 8 of the said judgment, certain directions have been issued which contains that both the parties shall continue to abide by the terms of the settlement without any exception. It is further held – “ The Registry is directed to forward a copy of this order to the foras/Courts concerned for passing

formal orders closing the cases/placing the same on the record of the file(s) ”.

In view of the above development, there remains nothing for adjudication. Hence, the proceeding pending before the learned Court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alipore, South 24 Parganas being A.C.G.R. Case No.5137 of 2024 is hereby quashed. The revisional application is, thus, disposed of.
