The claim of the petitioner relates to unpaid amounts of the work done in terms of construction of a correctional home. The claim made by the petitioner is about Rs. 15,88,527/- together with security deposit of 10% of the revised estimated amount.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that only prayer made in the present writ petition is for a direction on the Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 11^th January, 2022 for disbursement of the said amount.

Learned counsel for the State respondents submits that the representation may be considered within a fixed timeframe and in accordance with law.

WPA 8388 of 2022 is disposed of with a direction on the respondent no. 4 being the Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, Government of West Bengal, to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 11^th January, 2022 and dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order within a period of four weeks from date. The said authority shall hear all the necessary parties including the petitioner for passing such reasoned order. A copy of the reasoned order shall be made available to the petitioner within a week from the date of passing such order. Needless to mention, the claim of the petitioner shall be disposed of in accordance with law.
