… for the Calcutta University The matter relates to the students’ union elections in the colleges which were due in January, 2020.
The allegation in the petition is in reflect of the clashes which had taken place between the students, aligned to different political parties and in this background, the prayer was made to register the FIR on the basis of the complaint dated 06.01.2015 and also to issue a direction to the respondents to stop the clashes between the students’ union belonging to various political parties in the State.
Learned counsel for the State has pointed out that with the efflux of time the issue does not survive because the elections had been taken place and now the situation has been changed.
Be that as it may since no one is present for the petitioner, the petition is dismissed in default for want of prosecution.
