It states that if a party after obtaining an order for amendments does not amend the pleadings within the time provided for the purpose by the order, or if no time is thereby limited then within 14 days from the date of the order, he shall not be permitted to amend the pleadings unless the time is extended by the court. Thus rule 18 itself provides for extension. The petition is allowed in terms of prayer clause (a). Time to carry out the amendments pursuant to the order dtd. 20th December, 2012 is extended by two weeks from today.
