1]The petitioner has been disqualified to
participate in the process of selection for
appointment as dealer of petroleum products by the
respondent Indian Oil Corporation. One of the
conditions mentioned in the advertisement is that, the
applicants desirous of participating in the process
shall file copy of either, the Matriculation
Certificate, or the identity card issued by the
Election Commission or a PAN Card, or a copy of the
Passport and in the event of failure to present the
aforesaid documents, liberty was available to the
candidate to tender an affidavit in respect of his
claim that his age is not less than 21 years.
2]In the instant matter, the present
petitioner has admittedly not presented the documents
specified in the advertisement and has relied upon the

Transfer Certificate issued by the Government
Polytechnic, Latur. The document tendered by the
petitioner does not conform to the specifications
mentioned in the advertisement. As such, the
Authorities of the Indian Oil Corporation were
justified in refusing to consider the claim of the
petitioner and held him disqualified to participate in
the process of selection for appointment as dealer.
3]In the given facts, no interference is
called for. Writ Petition, as such, stands rejected.
