Heard the learned counsel for the Petitioner and the learned AGP for the State.

The grievance of the Petitioner is that though he has filed an application under section 28A of the Land Acquisition Act before the Special Land Acquisition officer, Metro Center, Panvel- Respondent No.2, the said application is pending since 2003.

Since this is the only relief claimed by the Petitioner, we direct Respondent No.2 to decide the application filed by the Petitioner under section 28A of the said Act as expeditiously as possible and, in any case, within a period of three months on merits and in

accordance with law. In the event, if any appeal is filed and the

same is pending in the Court, the Petitioner may, accordingly, be informed about the reasons as to why the said application could not be decided earlier. With these directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
