The above Civil Applications have been filed seeking extension of time for furnishing security for the balance amount in terms of the order dated 7/02/2013 passed by this Court.

By the said orders the ad interim order was continued by this Court

subject to the petitioner giving security to the satisfaction of the learned Registrar (Judicial) of this Court for the balance claimed by the PPF Authorities. It appears that the petitioner has deposited a sum of

Rs.4,00,000/- (Rupees four lacs only) in Writ Petition No.618/2012 and Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees three lacs only) in Writ Petition No.619/2012. The reason why the security could not be furnished within the time stipulated by the order dated 07/12/2013 is mentioned in both the Civil Applications. The sum and substance of the reasons is that the applicant had to make some financial arrangements so as to furnish the security. It has been mentioned in the Applications that the applicant is now in a position to furnish the Bank Guarantee for the balance amounts in respect of which security has to be given. The learned Counsel Shri J. Vaz appearing for the PPF Authorities objects to the time being extended, but ultimately leaves it to this Court.

In my view, the amount being the amount due on account of PPF Authorities and since the applicant has already deposited part of the amounts in both the petitions, it would be just and proper to extend the time for furnishing security. Both the above Civil Applications are accordingly allowed in terms of the prayer clause. Time is accordingly extended by four weeks from date. Both the Civil Applications stand disposed of.
