Perused the Petition. The Petitioner is undergoing life imprisonment with effect from 25th October, 1986. It appears that the Petitioner’s request for premature release was not accepted by the Board for Review of sentences. The said Board had directed that the matter of the Petitioner regarding his earlier release be placed again before the Board after a period of two years. The Petitioner approached this Court in Criminal Writ Petition No.26 of 2003 and a
Division Bench of this Court by Order dated 6th October, 2003 rejected the Petition of the said prisoner. The matter of the Petitioner’s earlier release is likely to come up before the said Board this month, after a lapse of two years.
The Petition, therefore, appears to be premature. Hence, rejected. Inform the prisoner accordingly. The Petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh Petition after the matter is considered again by the said Board.
