As per the provisions of Part XIV of Chapter VI of the Finance Act 2017, the Appellate Tribunal for Foreign Exchange (ATFE) has been merged with the Appellate Tribunal under the Smugglers & Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Properties) Act 1976, w. e. f. 26.05.2017.
No one appears on behalf of the appellant. The matter is at the stage of final arguments.
List on 1st February, 2018.
In the meanwhile, registry will issue the notice to the appellant as well as his counsel to represent the matter. Respondent also to take steps to issue reminder to the appellant and his counsel informing the next date of hearing.
