The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondents in not releasing financial assistance of Rs.5,00,000/- (Rupees Five Lakhs only) i.e., 2^nd Installment, sanctioned to the Petitioner (Application I.D. No.OV2018114792) under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Overseas Scholarship scheme, as illegal and arbitrary.

The Petitioner had applied for financial assistance under ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Overseas Scholarship scheme for the academic year 2018-2019 and the same was allotted with Application I.D. No.OV2018114792. After due verification, Respondent No.4 sanctioned Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) in favour of the Petitioner for pursuing M.B.B.S Course at Gullas College of Medicine, Cebu City, Philippines in two (02) installments. Thereafter, Respondent-Authorities released 1^st installment (Rs.5,00,000/-) to the Petitioner. Later, the Petitioner had completed her M.B.B.S Course, but the financial assistance i.e., 2^nd Installment (Rs.5,00,000/-) as

promised to the Petitioner was not disbursed to her. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed.

Sri Ch. Venkateswara Rao, learned Standing Counsel for Respondent No.4/Corporation submits that the application of the Petitioner would be considered and amounts would be sanctioned, if the Petitioner is within the conditions specified, for release of the amounts.

Considering the submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions:-

(i) The Respondents are directed to examine the claim of the Petitioner within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(ii) In the event, the claim of the Petitioner is held

to be in order, the Respondents are directed to release the amounts to the Petitioner within a further period of eight (08) weeks.

¶40

(iii) There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending

in this Petition shall stand closed.
