Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home.

Sri A.K. Kishore Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the police officials of Rangampeta, Anaparthi, Bikkavolu and Pedapudi Police Stations are functioning in a biased manner in relation to the ensuing elections to the Doddigunta Fishermen Cooperative Society Limited of Rangampeta Mandal.

Sri P. Ajay Babu, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on instructions, submits that the averments made in the affidavit are baseless and bereft of truth, and urged to dismiss the petition.

The elections to the above-mentioned Cooperative Society are scheduled to be held on 05.03.2026. It is the responsibility of the police officials, while discharging their duties in assisting the conduct of free and fair elections, to ensure that there is no scope for any suspicion or doubt regarding their fairness and impartiality. In view of the allegations levelled against the police officials of the aforesaid police stations, it is the duty and responsibility of respondent Nos.2 and 3, being the heads of the district administration in

matters relating to law and order and revenue affairs, to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the Writ Petition is

disposed of with a direction to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to ensure that the elections to the Doddigunta Fishermen Cooperative Society Limited of Rangampeta Mandal are conducted on 05.03.2026 in a free, fair and transparent manner, without there being any allegations of bias whatsoever on the part of the police officials, particularly those working in Rangampeta, Anaparthi, Bikkavolu and Pedapudi Police Stations. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
