30 days with reference to receipt of an adverse police verification report as he is involved in the criminal cases vide (1) Crime No.339 of 2020 of Thulluru Police Station, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 406, 420, 477 read with 34 IPC and the case is PT vide CC No.185 of 2022 on the file of the learned Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Mangalagiri, Guntur district, (2) Crime No.340 of 2020 of Thulluru Police Station, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 406, 420, 477 read with 34 IPC and the case is PT vide CC No.929 of 2023 on the file of the learned Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Mangalagiri, Guntur district, (3) Crime No.389 of 2020 of Thulluru Police Station, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 332, 353, 147, 148 read with 34 IPC and the case is PT vide CC No.27 of 2023 on the file of the learned Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Mangalagiri, Guntur district, (4) Crime No.390 of 2020 of Thulluru Police Station, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 302, 324, 109 read with 149 IPC and the case is PT vide PRC No.5 of 2025 on the file of the learned Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Mangalagiri, Guntur district, (5) Crime No.238 of 2022 of Thulluru Police Station, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 188, 341 read with 34 IPC and (6) Crime No.104 of 2023 of Thulluru Police Station, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 341, 504 read with 34 IPC.

Petitioner states that his wife is pursuing her studies abroad at University of New Haven and her education is going to be

completed by this academic year. Therefore, he has to attend the Graduation Ceremony of his wife, which is going to be held from 15.05.2026 to 16.05.2026. Grievance of the petitioner is that 3^rd respondent is not considering his application for renewal of passport on the ground of pendency of above criminal cases and insisting for No-objection Certificate from the jurisdictional Court. Hence, he filed the present Writ Petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioner would contend that the passport authority cannot deny for renewal of passport on the ground that criminal cases are pending against the petitioner.

On the other hand, learned counsel for the respondents would submit that as many as six (6) criminal cases, as mentioned supra, are pending against the petitioner, in which the petitioner is arrayed as accused. Learned counsel would further submit that the petitioner has to approach the jurisdictional Court and make an appropriate application.

In reply, learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner will approach the jurisdictional Court and file an application.

Given the facts and circumstances, the Writ Petition is disposed of, at the admission stage, with the consent of both the learned counsel, giving liberty to the petitioner to approach the jurisdictional Court and file an appropriate application. If such an application is filed by the petitioner, the jurisdictional Court shall

consider and pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible, keeping in view Rule 12 of the Passport Rules 1980. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
