ORDER:

The petitioner is aggrieved by the action of the respondents in not releasing the finalized bill amounts payable to the petitioner towards usage of his vehicle under the vehicle lease agreement for the Tribal Welfare Department, despite the bills having been processed and finalized by the concerned Tribal Welfare and Finance Departments vide Transaction No.2025-10142552.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner provided his vehicle under the vehicle lease agreement for the Tribal Welfare Department and, after duly complying with the terms and conditions of the said agreement, submitted the bills towards the vehicle usage charges. It is submitted that the said bills were duly processed and finalized by the concerned Tribal Welfare and Finance Departments vide Transaction No.2025-10142552. However, despite the bills having been finalized and all the necessary procedural formalities having been completed, the amounts due and payable to the petitioner have not been released till date.

Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Social Welfare and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Finance Planning.

During the course of hearing, the learned Assistant Government Pleaders appearing for the respondents do not dispute the fact that the bills towards usage of the vehicle under the vehicle lease agreement were processed and finalized by the concerned Tribal Welfare and Finance

W.P.No.25686_2026 Departments. It is submitted that the non-payment of the finalized bill amounts is due to paucity of funds.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the respective parties, the concerned respondents are directed to verify and release the finalized bill amounts payable to the petitioner towards usage of the vehicle under the vehicle lease agreement, in terms of Transaction No.2025-10142552, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs

As a sequel, Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
