Heard the learned counsel for the Petitioner and Sri J. Krishna Praneeth, learned Assistant Government Pleader, attached to the Office of Additional Advocate General, appearing for the Respondents.

The Writ of Habeas Corpus has been filed by the Petitioner. The Petitioner is the alleged detenue. It is evident that the Petitioner was set at liberty as per the Orders of the Coordinate Bench dated 27.08.2014.

Pursuant to the Order dated 07.09.2026, an affidavit has been filed by the Inspector of Police, Chittoor I Town P.S on 15.09.2026. It has been submitted in Para No.6 that the Petitioner was set at liberty and the F.I.R was closed as ‘Action Dropped’ as per the proceedings of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Chittoor vide C.No.159/SDPO (C)/RC/2017.

Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner has also prayed for grant of compensation for violation of Fundamental Right.

The Writ Petition pertain to the year 2014. The Petitioner was set at liberty in the year 2014. So far as the prayer for grant of compensation is concerned, which would require exercise of jurisdiction under article 226 of the Constitution of India to consider the facts of the case, it would not be

appropriate for this Court to enter into the question of compensation. We grant liberty to the Petitioner for the prayer of grant of compensation to

approach appropriate Forum, in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observation, the Writ Petition is closed.

No Order as to Costs.

As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, shall also

stand closed.
