Hari Haranadha Sarma, J. — Writ Petition No. 15288 of 2026 (decided 11.06.2026): Petition under Article 226 seeking a writ of Mandamus to declare the action of the Station House Officer, Gooty Police Station in interfering with a civil dispute between the petitioner and respondents 4 and 5 over land measuring Ac.0-15 cents in Sy.No.198 of Thondapadu Village, Gooty Mandal, Ananthapur District as arbitrary, illegal and violative of Articles 14, 21, 19 and 300-A, and to direct the police not to interfere without due process. The learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on written instructions, submitted that the land was not allotted to anybody, that two groups claim rights over it, that the police had only intervened to pacify a disturbance and advised both parties to avail proper legal remedies before the competent civil court, and that a letter addressed to the Mandal Executive Magistrate, Gooty elicited a reply that the subject land is classified as grama Kantham land and not allotted to anybody. This writ petition is filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus declaring the action of respondent No.1 in interfering with the civil dispute relating to the land in an extent of Ac.0-15 cents situated in Sy.No.198 of Thondapadu Village, Gooty Mandal, Ananthapur District and encouraging respondent Nos.4 and 5 in creating Law and Order problems, as illegal and arbitrary and direct them not to interfere in civil disputes.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home.

Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home, on written instructions, would submit that the land in question was not allotted to anybody, and that two groups are claiming rights over the said land. It is submitted that, when there was some disturbance between the parties, the police intervened to pacify the same and they advised both parties to avail proper legal remedies through Court. It is further submitted that they have also addressed a letter to the Mandal Executive Magistrate, Gooty seeking clarification regarding issuance of ownership certificate. In response thereto, the Mandal Executive Magistrate, Gooty has given a reply stating that the subject land has not allotted to anybody and it is classified as grama Kantham land. The learned Assistant Government Pleader further submits that the

police are not interfering with the civil disputes and they have advised both the parties to approach competent civil Court.

In view of the written instructions placed on record and the submissions made by the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Home that the respondent-police are not interfering in the civil disputes between the parties, and recording the same, this Court finds that no further orders are required in the matter.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
